Terms of Use
Last updated: 2 June 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CallTrace.au, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use CallTrace.
CallTrace is not for people under 18. You must be at least 18 years old to use the service.
2. What CallTrace Does
CallTrace helps users investigate unknown, suspicious, missed, spam or unwanted calls. A user can submit a phone number and request an automated call attempt and result.
CallTrace may return a call status, summary, transcript or recording access if available, or an unable-to-determine result. CallTrace may place an automated call to a submitted number to provide the requested result.
3. Accuracy and Limits
CallTrace does not guarantee caller identity or the reason for a call. Phone numbers can be spoofed, disconnected, redirected, unanswered, blocked, answered by someone else, or answered falsely.
Results are informational only. Results are not legal evidence, police verification, identity verification, background screening, credit checking, debt collection evidence, or emergency assistance.
4. Lawful and Safe Use
You must only submit numbers where you have a legitimate reason to request a CallTrace result. You are responsible for ensuring your use is lawful, safe and appropriate.
You must not use CallTrace for:
- harassment, stalking, intimidation, threats, doxxing, domestic abuse or coercive control;
- repeated unwanted call attempts or attempts to identify someone for harm;
- unlawful surveillance, impersonation, deception or misuse of another person's details;
- debt collection misuse or creating evidence for debt collection;
- workplace, tenant, customer or employee monitoring or misuse;
- background checks, identity verification, credit checking or eligibility screening;
- bulk lookup, scraping, automated abuse, rate-limit avoidance or platform interference.
5. Calls, Recordings and Transcripts
Calls may be recorded and/or transcribed to provide the result, handle support and removal requests, maintain safety and abuse controls, investigate disputes, improve reliability, and comply with legal obligations.
You must not submit a number if you know the request would be unlawful, unsafe, abusive or likely to cause harm.
6. Refusal, Limits and Suspension
CallTrace may refuse, limit, suspend or block requests that appear unlawful, unsafe, abusive, high-risk or excessive. We may also restrict access where needed to protect users, call recipients, the service, or the public.
7. Subscriptions and Billing
Monthly subscriptions renew each month until cancelled. You can cancel before the next renewal. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically refund the current billing period.
Used call attempts and results are generally non-refundable. Billing errors, duplicate charges, failed service, and Australian Consumer Law rights will be reviewed.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer protection laws.
See our Refund Policy for more detail.
8. Privacy, Access and Removal Requests
Our Privacy Policy explains how CallTrace handles account details, submitted numbers, call metadata, recordings, transcripts, summaries, support requests and removal requests.
Users and call recipients can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or removal through Contact Us. We may ask for proof of number control before acting on a request.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will be posted on this page. Continued use of CallTrace after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Contact
Questions about these Terms, billing, subscriptions, safety concerns or removal requests can be sent through Contact Us.
